Former NFF technical committee chairman Chris Green has accused the country’s Europe-based stars of not putting their bodies on the line when they play for the Super Eagles.
This salvo comes after he suggested that fumbling goalkeeper Francis Uzoho be axed from the Super Eagles for him to rediscover his self-belief after some blunders that cost the country dearly.
“Super Eagles stars are not ready to take the bullet for Nigeria.
“They play with fear not to get injured with the Super Eagles because they are also thinking about their clubs back in Europe.
“We need players who are ready to give everything when they play for the country.”
Ahead of the 2023 AFCON, Green admitted he has his concerns with the Super Eagles defence and midfield.
“With the goalkeeper, what are we going to do?,” he asked.
“There are also problems in defence, while the midfield we have selected predominantly defensive players, so, who will give the passes at the other end. How do we score?”
