The German club of Victor Boniface will release the striker for next month’s AFCON after one of their top officials first threatened to take legal action against that.
Bayer Leverkusen managing director Simon Rolfes said Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella will be allowed to feature for the Super Eagles should they be called up.
“If they are called up, they will go,” Rolfes told Kicker.
Previously Leverkusen CEO Fernado Carro said he was mulling legal action to prevent the players from the AFCON, which will be played between January 13 and February 11, 2024, in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Bundesliga club are currently top of the standings and they could also be without Amine Adil (Morocco), Odilon Koussounou (Cote d’Ivoire) and Edmond Tapsoba (Burkina Faso) because of the AFCON.
