The Super Falcons tonight qualified for next year’s WAFCON in Morocco after they edged past hosts Cape Verde 2-1 to go through 7-1 on aggregate.
Cape Verde stunned the nine-time African champions after just 10 minutes of action in Praia.
Second-half sub Esther Okoronkwo drew the Nigerian ladies level on 62 minutes.
The Super Falcons pressed on for a winner and were rewarded in stoppage time through captain Rasheedat Ajibade.
They thus joined the likes of defending champions Bayana Bayana of South Africa and the Black Queens of Ghana for the 2024 WAFCON, which will again be staged in Morocco.
