Enyimba will have to go past Wydad Casablanca of Morocco for a place in the semifinal of the inaugural African Football League (AFL).
This will be one of the quarterfinals of the maiden continental competition, which promises huge financial rewards for the teams.
Other AFL pairings are Simba of Tanzania vs Al Ahly Egypt, TP Mazembe from DR Congo up against Esperiance Tunisia and Petro de Launda of Angola up against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
The first quarterfinal will be on October 20 in Tanzania between Simba and Al Ahly.
The semifinal will be between October 29 and November 1, while the final is fixed for between November 5 and 11.
This is the pilot tournament that will involve the 24 best ranked clubs on the continent in a full-fledged competition for the 2024/2025 season.
