Dependable central defender Daniel Bamaiyi will captain the Flying Eagles to glory at the U20 AFCON in Egypt later this month.
Stocky but effective Bamaiyi has grown into the main pillar of the Flying Eagles back four in the last few months.
He, like the bulk of the squad to Egypt, did not feature in the U20 AFCON qualifiers in May 2022.
A top team official told SCORENigeria: “He is consistent and leads by example.”
The youngest player in the squad, Daniel Daga, has been designated as one of the assistant captains.
Enyimba defender Tosin Adegbite led the team to win the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifiers in May 2022.
The Flying Eagles will begin their U20 AFCON campaign on February 19 against Senegal.
Hosts Egypt and Mozambique are the other teams in Group A based in Cairo.
