Everton lead fellow Premier League clubs Southampton and Crystal Palace for red-hot Middlesbrough striker Chuba Akpom.
Akpom is the leading scorer in the English Championship with 13 goals thus far.
The striker has hit a rich vein of form with the arrival of new boss Michael Carrick as he has now scored nine goals in his last 10 appearances and ‘Boro have made their way to the promotion playoffs bracket.
A transfer to Everton will see Akpom reunite with Alex Iwobi after both players started out at Arsenal.
Akpom has now pledged his international allegiance to Nigeria after he represented England at age-grade levels and some initial reluctance.
His Premier League admirers believe he can score the goals to save them from relegation.
