Today, second half goals by Ridwan Sarki and Segun Otusanya gave the Flying Eagles a 2-0 win over NPFL side Lobi Stars to bring an end to the first phase of their training camp ahead of next year’s U20 AFCON.
Lobi Stars did well to hold the Flying Eagles scoreless in the first half, but after the restart the national U20 side stepped up their hunt for goals and deserved their two goals.
Sarki curved a free kick from the edge of the box for the opening goal on 76 minutes.
Substitute striker Otusanya doubled the lead 10 minutes later, when he eliminated his markers before he drilled his shot beyond the goalkeeper.
Overall, the Flying Eagles won eight of their test games and drew only one.
They scored 40 goals and conceded only two goals.
The team will resume next month to continue their build-up to the U20 AFCON, which kicks off in Egypt February 18.
