Fans of both FC Lorient and the Super Eagles can now heave a big sigh of relief after scans and various other tests showed Terem Moffi will be sidelined by only two weeks after he injured his right ankle in a Ligue 1 tie at the weekend.
Initial fears were that the 23-year-old striker may have fractured his ankle after a tackle in the weekend’s home game against Reims, which forced him out very early into the game.
A top source close to the striker has now informed SCORENigeria that Moffi, who has thus far netted eight goals in Ligue 1 this season, will be out of action for just two weeks.
“He will be out for two weeks,” the source disclosed.
“The injury was not as serious as first feared.
“Extensive tests and scans were done and he will soon be back.”
Moffi will as a result of this miss his team’s Ligue 1 games away to Troyes this weekend as well as the home clash against OGC Nice.
He should therefore be available for the home game against champions and league leaders PSG on November 6.
FC Lorient are second on the table with 26 points from 11 matches, three points behind PSG.
An appearance in this game will assure Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro that his goal scorer against Algeria will be good to go for the high-profile friendly against World Cup-bound Portugal on November 17 in Lisbon.
