Victor Boniface has praised the fighting spirit of Union St.Gilloise after they had to fight from two goals down to salvage a 3-3 draw at home with closest rivals Sporting Braga in the UEFA Europa League.
The 21-year-old striker scored twice to put his Belgian club on equal footing with Braga.
He now has three goals in the competition.
“The first half was frustrating,” Boniface told Sporza.
“At halftime we discussed what to do and that worked for us.
“We played at home, with the fans behind us. We didn’t want to disappoint them so we kept fighting. We got what we fought for.”
Union lead Group D with 10 points as they aim to stay on in the Europa League.
“We are doing our best to kick it as far as possible. It doesn’t matter to us who the opponent are. We’re playing our game,” said Boniface.
