Jerome Akor has told SCORENigeria he is grateful to God and all those who supported him to return to full action after a successful shoulder surgery.
Striker Akor injured his shoulder in action for Norwegian club Lillestrom in July.
He underwent surgery in August.
On Sunday, he came on as a late sub in a home game against Bodo/Glimt.
“It was good to be back in action in our last game (Sunday, vs Bodo/Glimt),” he told SCORENigeria
“I had my surgery on August 9 and it was a tough period for me.
“I am still doing my rehab so as to get back to top shape.”
Before the injury, Lillestrom were flying thanks in part to the goals of the former Flying Eagles striker, but with six rounds of matches, the Oslo club are now fourth in the standings and battling for a place in Europe.
“We lost the chance to do a lot better because of the injuries that hit the club,” he admitted.
“But now with a handful of games to the end of the season, we are still fighting for a spot in Europe.”
Akor, 22, has so far six goals in 17 appearances in his first season at Lillestrom after he joined up as a free agent from second division club Sogndal.
