Injury tonight forced Victor Osimhen out of a UEFA Champions League group game against Liverpool.
It appears he may have injured his hamstrings.
Osimhen, who had to pass a late fitness test, came off the pitch in the 41st minute.
Before his exit, he was clear danger to the Liverpool defence led by Van Dijk.
Osimhen was lively from the first whistle as he saw his effort crash against the post as early as the second minute.
He then won Napoli a penalty in the fifth minute, when Van Dijk fouled him for his team to convert the spot kick.
Three minutes later, he won another penalty when Van Dijk stamped on his foot and a VAR check confirmed it was a penalty, but he missed the penalty.
He was a big bother with his speed, movement and power against the Liverpool defence before injury forced him out.
Napoli won 4-1.
Ajax top Group A after they beat Rangers 4-0 in Amsterdam.
Next week, Liverpool welcome leaders Ajax and Napoli travel to Scotland to face Rangers.
