One of Nigeria’s top players, Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze, is one of Villarreal’s leaders. The Spanish club reached the semifinals of the Champions League, knocking out even Bayern Munich in the process. According to Beton.ng, Chukwueze scored the decisive goal in the return leg in Germany, which tied the match and allowed Villarreal to reach the Champions League final.
Villarreal fought Liverpool in the semifinals. Bookmaker experts Wazobet gave odds of 3.50 on Villarreal making it to the final. Tracking quotes for Champions League games is convenient via Wazobet mobile app. It is a fast and practical software for your smartphone.
In the end, the bookmakers’ prediction turned out to be correct. Liverpool knocked Villarreal out of the Champions League. Now the Spanish club is thinking about keeping its star squad that head coach Unai Emery has been putting together for so long.
In particular, defender Pau Torres may leave the team in the summer. According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old is one of 3-4 candidates to strengthen Manchester United’s center of defense.
There have been no talks yet, as the decision on whether to try to sign the Spaniard will depend on new head coach Erik ten Hague and the situation in United’s management. Chelsea are also bidding for Torres. The fee for the Spanish national team player is 55-60 million euros. Would English clubs be ready to pay that kind of money? Yes, of course. All that remains is to convince the player to move to the EPL.
Midfielder Giovani Lo Celso will also return to England. He moved from Tottenham to Villarreal on loan in the winter. The English club’s press service reports that the Argentine will spend the rest of the season at the Spanish club. Lo Celso has played for Tottenham since 2019. During that time, he played 84 matches for the London club and scored 8 goals. Perhaps the Spaniards will try to buy the player’s contract after the end of the season.
Also, midfielder Arnaud Danjuma may leave Villarreal. The Spanish club did not let the player leave in the winter despite the interest of European top clubs. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the list of clubs showing interest in the 24-year-old midfielder includes Liverpool. The Netherlands national team player’s contract with Villarreal runs until June 2026. The left winger has played 18 matches for the Spanish club in all competitions this season, scored nine goals and provided three assists.
Most likely, the idea of the player’s transfer will return in the summer. Liverpool will obviously try to arrange the transfer of this player.
As for Samuel Chukwueze, he remains in Villarreal. The player has a contract with the club until the summer of 2024. According to the Transfermarkt portal, the transfer of Samuel is estimated at twenty million euros. It’s a small amount and hardly reflects the real value of the Nigerian. Perhaps the scoring winger will increase in value this summer.
