Officials have said Victor Osimhen was not listed for forthcoming friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador in the USA after he asked to be excused from the Super Eagles for the time being.
Osimhen and Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho were conspicuously missing from a 30-man squad announced by coach Salisu Yusuf this week.
It is believed that Napoli striker Osimhen was devastated by Nigeria’s failure to qualify for this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
He could also be on the move again this summer after he has continued to be linked with several top Premier League clubs, from Manchester United to Arsenal.
