Super Eagles No 1 Maduka Okoye has expressed confidence Watford, who he will join in January, will stay put in the Premier League come the end of the season.
Watford were relegated last season, but returned to the English top league by the first time of asking.
They are currently two points outside the drop zone after 11 rounds of matches.
Okoye, 22, will only join Watford next summer after a loan spell back at his Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam and he said he hopes he will finally join up with the club still in the top division.
“I will support Watford so that we will play Premier League next season,” he said.
“I’m sure we will do that because there’s a lot of quality in the team.”
He is now the most expensive Nigeria goalkeeper ever after Watford reportedly splash a record seven Million Euros to sign him.
He described the transfer as a “perfect step for me” and he cannot wait to get started.
“It’s a dream for me to play in the Premier League, it’s the biggest league, the best league and now I’m getting ready for it,” he said.
