Odion Ighalo has expressed happiness on his return to the Super Eagles after a self-imposed exile of two years.
The experienced striker was the last player to report to the Super Eagles training camp in tangier, Morocco, today.
“I’m happy to be back, it has been long (away from the team), almost two years plus and it is good to see some of the guys,” as he walked out of the Eagles hotel lift, smiling and showing a double thumbs-up.
“I have seen my strong man, (William) Ekong, hopefully I will see the other guys.”
Ighalo’s return has been widely criticised, but coach Gernot Rohr has insisted the Eagles will benefit more from the striker’s goals, experience and leadership.
The Eagles face Liberia in a crucial 2022 World Cup qualifier Saturday in Morocco.
They top of the standings on nine points after four rounds of matches.
