Chidera Ejuke’s posted a decent debut season in Russia after a 12 Million Euros switch from Dutch club Heerenveen.
The dribbling wizard, who plays mostly as a left winger, scored five goals and provided three goals in his first season for Russian army club CSKA Moscow.
His big-money transfer from Holland was caused by an impressive first season at Heerenveen, where he scored 10 goals and made six assists in 29 appearances.
And he did not waste time to announce his arrival in Russia when he scored in his second game as CSKA beat Spartak Moscow 3-1 in a derby in September.
Ejuke came off the bench to score in stoppage time to give his team a comfortable home win.
He will score again in another Moscow Derby against Dynamo Moscow a few weeks later, before he went through which meant he did not get on the scoreboard till in March 2021.
That poor run led to criticisms from fans many of whom felt their club had spent too much to bring him over.
However, he finished the season in fine style by scoring in his team’s last two games.
CSKA Moscow finished the campaign in sixth place with 50 points from 30 matches to miss out on European football action in the new season.
Failure to return to European action, which has often been a given for CSKA Moscow, means that both the club and Ejuke will be under heavy pressure come the new season.
He was No 6 at the last edition of the SCORENigeria TOP 30.
