Critics have put down ‘Simy’ Nwankwo as a clumsy and awkward striker, but the Crotone striker says such labels don’t bother him.
‘Simy’ has so far netted 19 goals in the Italian top league and it’s a tally that has seen him surpass the record put together by Obafemi Martins at Inter Milan.
However, the 28-year-old centre-forward has still not been accorded the respect he deserves because he is not elegant or athletic.
The striker himself insisted he will just carry on doing the business of scoring goals.
“I know what to do: improve every day to get to where I want,” he reacted.
Last season, he fired 20 goals in Serie B to lift Crotone back to the Italian top flight.
The Crotone coach has said the striker will not go down back with the team at the end of the season.
Asking price? Eight Million Euros.
