Cyriel Dessers has said as the league in Belgium hits the business end, all matches involving his club Genk will be taken as cup finals.
Genk are within the 4-team playoff bracket and will also play the Belgium Cup final against Standard Liege.
“I said it in the dressing room last week: ‘it may sound strange after 31 games, but the season is actually only starting now’,” he said.
“We’ll play 10 more matches, in which it all has to happen. Both in the cup final and in the competition, in which – even if it is a cliché – only finals await.
“It is to our credit that we are in complete control of our destiny. But we will have to work hard to achieve our goals. ”
On Monday, Genk will be at OH Leuven, where the striker started out and he said he is looking forward to the game.
“I’m really looking forward to this match, there are still some old acquaintances from the medical staff around. I am happy that OHL is playing in first division again,” he told HLN.
“They belong there and they are going to stay there now. “It is a pity that we still play with closed doors because the stands were always filled. I could already sniff that atmosphere from my room, wonderful memories.”
