The Super Eagles are the new leaders of Group A of the 2023 AFCON qualifying series after recorded a perfect record and Sierra Leone and Guinea Bissau played out a 2-2 draw.
The Eagles have six points after wins over Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.
They have a very healthy +11 goals difference thanks to a 10-0 mauling of Sao Tome.
Guinea Bissau are second in the standings with four points after they trounced whipping boys Sao Tome 5-1 in their opening group game.
Sierra Leone are third with a point, while Sao Tome are rock bottom without any points.
In September, Nigeria will welcome Guinea Bissau, before they play against the same team in a double header that could well determine their qualification for the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
The other double header in that window will be between Sierra Leone and Sao Tome.
