It will be an all-Northern Aiteo Cup Final this year after both Kano Pillars and Niger Tornadoes came through today.
Tornadoes dumped Rivers United 2-1 in their semi-final, while Kano Pillars stopped Calabar Rovers 3-1 on penalties after both teams played out a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Both teams will now fight for the top prize on a date and venue yet to be announced by the NFF.
Effectively, Tornadoes will win or lose in the Final play in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup after Pillars already finished as runners-up in the NPFL and will feature in the CAF Champions League.
The Minna club were beaten on penalties by Akwa United in the 2017 Final, while Pillars also lost to Enugu Rangers in a pulsating Final last year.
