They gave a fair account of themselves, but like the rest of their colleagues from the NPFL, they still have some way to go to be competitive against their foreign counterparts.

8.The pool of players now at the disposal of the Super Eagles has expanded – Femi Azeez, Chibuike Nwaiwu, Philip Otele, Arthur Okonkwo and Samson Tijani to add to fringe stars like Alhassan Yusuf, Tochukwu Nnadi and Igho Ogbu. The likes of Zadok Yohanna (AIK, Sweden) and Moses Usor (LASK, Austria) will also be good additions once they are fit again.
7.Alhassan Yusuf, a defensive midfielder by trade, can also play offensively as he showed with his two well-taken strikes particularly his second goal against the Reggae Boyz.

5.Eric Chelle is cooking again. Let’s see how the main squad fare against better opposition in Poland and Portugal in the coming days to really assess the work he is doing,
4.Arthur Okonkwo was not really tested, but he posted two clean sheets to show he should now be in the conversation as regards the goalkeepers in the Super Eagles.
3.The target now is to qualify and win the 2027 AFCON. Anything short of that will be failure.
