Speedy winger Yira Sor has insisted he still does not feel like a striker despite his recent goals for Belgian club Genk.
Yira Sor has netted four goals in his last three games, but he said he still considers himself a winger thanks to his speed.
Genk coach Wouter Vrancken has opted to play the former Flying Eagles star as the head of his strike force.
“But I still don’t feel like a striker,” Yira Sor maintained.
“Especially if there is some space at the back of a defence, it is easier to run from the centre towards the goal.
“Then Tolu (Arokodare) can be more dangerous up front with his height, or Zeqiri with his enormous work rate.”
At 37.1 kilometres an hour, Yira Sor is the fastest player in the Belgian league this season.
“My speed is a natural gift that I got from my father,” Sor told Het Nieuwsblad.
His father played football in Nigeria for a long time and was also known there for his speed.
He said he wants to run as fast as PSG star Kylian Mbappe, who is clocked at 38 kilometres by hour.
“I can still do that by growing some extra muscles in my thighs. One day I want to be as fast as Kylian Mbappé,” he said.
