Super Eagles friendly against Cameroon is in danger of being called off following wholesale withdrawals of players due to injury and non-payment of win-bonuses.
Nigeria are billed to take on the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on June 4 in Austria with a second game planned for June 8.
Eagles coach Gernot Rohr said: “I don’t know if they can cancel, I only know that I have maximum 18 players.
“We had nine defenders on the list, six now are out.
“If the players from England, William (Ekong), Kelechi (Iheanacho), Ndidi and Iwobi can come, then maybe we play, but I have no substitutes and there’s no chance to get other players.”
Rohr revealed that Victor Osimhen, ‘Simy’ Nwankwo, Ola Aina and Kevin Akpoguma have all pulled out of the friendly on account of injury.
Another player called up for the Cameroon matches said his colleagues are unhappy they have not been paid bonuses for AFCON qualifiers for the whole of the year.
“The players are not happy,” the unnamed player told ESPN.
“They have not paid bonuses and allowances, nothing at all for the entire (2021) AFCON qualifiers.
“We have sacrificed by playing throughout the qualifiers without being paid.
“I think now with all the injuries, it is hard for many of us to make the sacrifice to come and play a meaningless friendly when the outstanding bonuses have not been paid.”
