The chances of one of the leading scorers in Ligue 1 Folarin Balogun opting for the Super Eagles have been boosted after he was again snubbed by England.
This season, Balogun has banged 16 goals for Reims on loan from Arsenal.
Besides England, he is also eligible to play for Nigeria and USA.
The striker has already represented England at youth level, but his hopes of a full international debut with The Three Lions any time soon were dashed after he was left out of the squad to face Italy and Ukraine later this month.
The Reims forward, in a not-so-thinly-veiled expression of disappointment posted on the social media platform Instagram, reacted to the omission: “In life, go where your [sic] appreciated.”
Given that being in contention for the Ligue 1 Golden Boot wasn’t enough to convince manager Gareth Southgate that he was worthy of selection, Balogun is seemingly questioning his international allegiance.
