The big poser for coach Ladan Bosso is who will lead the Super Eagles attack tonight against Senegal, otherwise there will be no surprises to his starting XI.
Nasarawa United striker Francis Ayuba has been picked ahead of Olamilekan Adams because of his power and speed even though he has failed to score against the big teams.
Bosso’s game plan is for Ayuba to run down the opposing defence in the first half and for Adams to come in thereafter to score the goals.
This has worked against both Zambia and Congo.
KAA Gent striker Ahmed Abdullahi is no stranger to this team even though he only joined up in Egypt from his base in Belgium this past week.
How tonight’s game is playing out could determine if he is also involved at some point.
Survivors from the qualifiers – goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu, Augustine Njoku, Daniel Daga, Onuche Ogbelu, Samson Lawal, Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Beji’ and Haliru Sarki – are all expected to start.
Reports also suggest that Bosso has settled for a central defence partnership of captain Daniel Bamaiyi and Benjamin Frederick.
That means Sweden-based central defender Abel Ogwuche will start from the bench.
