In the absence of injured Wilfred Ndidi, Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka will be the Super Eagles preferred main defensive midfielder.
He will be the screen for a three-man Super Eagles defence.
Onyeka,26, who has yet to meet the expectations leading up to his Super Eagles debut vs Algeria in October 2020, has been considered ahead of the younger Raphael Onyedika because he has been a lot more tactical stable.
SCORENigeria gathered that Onyedika has been enterprising in training camp, but he sometimes gets carried away which means he often fails to play to instructions.

What is still hurting me is the way Wilfred Ndidi used to disappoint by claiming injury whenever the country needs him most. He did that to us last time with Ghana and we couldn’t go to the world cup. He should be banned from the team FOREVER!🤕
