Trabzonspor President Ertugrul Dogan has given a more detailed insight to why they failed to sign Paul Onuachu despite all efforts to do so.
Dogan said Southampton kept raising their asking price for the Super Eagles striker even after Trabzonspor had reached an agreement with the player.
We had reached an agreement with Onuachu,” he disclosed on a television interview.
“Southampton wanted 7 (Million Euros), we gave them, they wanted 10, we went up to 8-9 with bonuses, then they increased it to 15.
“So, they were not going to give it to us. Therefore, we had not to go against our club in any way. We cannot make this transfer if it were not on our terms.”
