Gernot Rohr has revealed that the Super Eagles will decide on who will be in goal for the team at the AFCON after they would have rounded up their training camp in Ismailia.
“We have three good goalkeepers and who will be No 1 will be decided after the training camp,” he disclosed.
“We will give the goalkeeper our trust.”
SCORENigeria learnt that it’s a straight forward battle between Daniel Akpeyi and Francis Uzoho after a knee injury slowed down Ikechukwu Ezenwa.
Ezenwa has since recovered from the injury, but officials said Akpeyi has got over past problems with the Eagles and he now looks set to be in goal in Egypt.
His transfer in January to South African giants Kaizer Chiefs has boosted his profile with the Eagles coaches.
He was in goal for the last friendly against Zimbabwe in Asaba.
Rohr admitted that Uzoho, who was the country’s No 1 at last year’s World Cup, struggled in the final AFCON qualifier at home against Seychelles in March.
