Super Eagles’ newest star, and star player of the Unity Cup, Femi Azeez has been linked with a variety of Premier League clubs. His excellent performances in the Championship last season has caught the eye of plenty of Premier League clubs.
His current club, Millwall, are desperate to keep a hold of him, but have set the price tag for the Nigerian winger at £15 million, despite turning down offers higher than that in the past. With so many clubs circling, it’s highly likely that he won’t be playing his club football at the Den next year.
Which clubs are interested in Femi Azeez?
Aston Villa have been credited with an interest, with reports linking a potential £15 million move to Villa Park during the early summer window, with Millwall setting their price tag at £15 million, a figure expected to frame any negotiations between the clubs. That interest, however, has so far stayed at the rumour stage rather than developing into a concrete bid.
Ipswich Town have arguably been the most persistent suitors. Kieran McKenna’s side had a £20 million bid rejected by Millwall in January, but with hope that a similar bid may make Millwall reconsider in the summer window. But this link seems to have fizzled out.
With Ipswich completing a move for a different right winger in Abdul Fatawu, that leaves very few Premier League clubs that would take a gamble on Azeez, with Hull City now considered the likeliest of the three promoted sides to pursue a move. Hull City and Ipswich are looking to bolster their squad as they are desperate to survive the Premier League, and you can bet on the Premier League next year using a Betano promo code.
Elsewhere, Brentford have also been credited with scouting interest, while Crystal Palace, Everton and Leeds United have all been mentioned among the Premier League clubs monitoring his situation, alongside earlier reported links to Bournemouth and Brighton.
Azeez contract complicates transfer
Part of the complication for any suitor is that Azeez still has time left on his deal. He joined Millwall from Reading in August 2024 for a fee in the region of £1 million, and signed fresh terms that run until June 2028, leaving the Lions under no real pressure to sell at a discount.
For now, Azeez remains a Millwall player. The club’s stance has been consistent all summer: they’re open to a sale, but only at their valuation, and with a host of admirers circling rather than one clear frontrunner emerging, a deal doesn’t appear imminent.
His stock has only risen further after a standout Unity Cup with the Super Eagles, and continued Championship form next season would likely push interested parties to finally match Millwall’s asking price. Whether that move materialises this summer or not, few would bet against Azeez playing Premier League football before too long.
