Randy Waldrum has said he hopes to keep his job as coach of the Super Falcons after he led the team to the World Cup Round of 16.
The Texan was involved in a toxic public spat with his employers, the NFF, leading up to the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
He accused the NFF of interfering with his job and also not supporting the Super Falcons.
His employers fired back with some very dismissive adjectives like “incompetent”, “serial failure” and “Blabbermouth” aimed at Waldrum.
However, when he was asked if he wanted to keep his post after the Super Falcons exited the World Cup today, he replied: “Those decisions are for somebody else [but] I’d would like to stay.”
His contract will run out in a couple of weeks.
He said he expects the NFF to make a quick decision on his future soon as the Falcons will soon be involved in the qualifying tournament for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
