Thomas Tuchel has disagreed with his FC Cologne colleague that Bayern Munich ought to have signed Victor Boniface and not Harry Kane in the summer.
Cologne coach Steffen Baumgart said Victor Boniface would have been a far better signing by Bayern than the England captain.
Tuchel did not share this thinking though.
“It’s nice to know that Cologne’s coach is thinking about our transfer window,” the former Chelsea manager said rather cheekily.
“Had we known earlier, we could have expanded the transfer committee to nine people.
“I don’t know if he (Victor Boniface) would have been a better signing.”
Victor Boniface, who made his Super Eagles debut last week against Sao Tome and Principe, has thus far scored four goals and made two assists in the Bundesliga, while Kane also has four goals.
The Nigerian striker, 22, cost Bayer Leverkusen 20 Million Euros, while Kane, 30, was a 110 Million Euros signing by Bayern.
Victor Boniface was named the Bundesliga Player of the Month for August ahead of Kane.
