According to Bild, Bayer Leverkusen’s doctors recommend knee surgery for Victor Boniface, who is on a season-long loan at Werder Bremen.
After rehabilitation, Boniface could potentially start at another club.
It has already been reported that it is most likely the striker’s loan deal will be called off next month.
Werder Bremen officials have spoken of the “best solution” for the player.
