Victor Boniface finished off a good attacking move by Leverkusen in the 85th minute with a simple tap-in for his eighth goal in the Bundesliga this season.
It has been a productive week for the Super Eagles striker as he also scored in a 2-0 win at BK Hacken of Sweden in the UEFA Europa League in midweek.
Leverkusen remain top of the Bundesliga with 35 points from 13 matches, three points ahead of defending champions Bayern Munich, who have a game in hand.
