Leverkusen had to fight back from an early goal by visitors Eintracht Frankfurt to win 2-1.
The home team drew level after 25 minutes, before the Super Eagles striker struck in the 71st minute.
He headed home from inside the box a poor clearance by the Frankfurt defence.
It was redemption for Victor Boniface after he missed a penalty in the ninth minute.
Leverkusen have thus shot to fourth on the table with 14 points from seven matches.
