Victor Boniface has been voted by his fellow players among the Top 3 players of the season, but despite his sensational run at Gent Gift Orban did not make it into the Top 10 nominees for the Professional Footballer Award.
All players from the 18 clubs in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League voted between May 15 and 29.
Boniface, his teammate at Union St.Gilloise Teddy Teuma and Mike Tresor are the top nominees.
Incidentally, Tresor beat both Boniface to another prestigious award, the Ebony Boot, for the best African player this season,
Boniface, 22, scored nine goals in the league and six in the UEFA Europa League, while 20-year-old striker Gift Orban netted 20 goals in as many games in all competitions for KAA Gent since his arrival from Norway in January.
The Professional Footballer Award winner will be announced on Monday, June 5.
