Victor Boniface comeback suffers setback

Victor Boniface return to action has been delayed by a small setback, his German club announced today.

The striker has not played since he suffered a groin injury on Super Eagles duty against Rwanda in November.

His club played a friendly today without the Nigeria striker and they announced the player’s rehabilitation has suffered a small step back.

Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso ruled him out of the team’s last game of 2024 against Freiburg to ensure he us fully recovered.
