Victor Boniface underwent knee surgery in January and it was believed that he will not play again this season.
“I am happy to be back after three months out,” said the player, who will now train apart from the main squad until he is fully recovered.
“I am now looking forward what we can achieve at the end of the season.”
Victor Boniface is on loan at Werder Bremen from fellow Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the season.
Werder Bremen are 14th in the Bundesliga standings with 28 points from 27 matches, just four points outside the relegation zone with seven rounds of matches to the end of the regular season.
