Flying Eagles defender Valentine Ozornwafor has joined the Nigeria U23s and will feature in today’s test game against Nasarawa United.
This comes as coach Imama Amapakabo dropped eight players from the NPFL Tuesday to make room for more overseas-based stars.
Ozornwafor played for the team when they overturned a first leg loss in Libya to qualify for the next round of the qualifying series for the U23 AFCON.
Officials informed SCORENigeria that the left-footed central defender, who is on loan at Spanish club Almeria from Turkish champions Galatasaray, is expected to play for the U23s in today’s test game against Nasarawa United.
The foreign-based pros now in the team’s training camp in Abuja include Samuel Atvati (Tunisia), Sincere Seth (Turkey), Kelechi Nwakali (Spain) and Orji Okwonkwo (USA).
Officials are hopeful more pros will jet in before the squad depart for Egypt tomorrow.
