Henry Onyekuru has returned to Turkey on a season-long loan with ambitious Adana Demirspor from Olympiacos with an option to buy.
Onyekuru, 25, landed in Istanbul Saturday to complete the loan deal.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Adana Demirspor President Murat Sancak said, “They offered him before, but I didn’t want him because of the cost. It was suggested again at the last moment, we agreed after serious negotiations.
“One-year loan. If we are satisfied at the end of one year, we have the option to buy. If we bought him, we will give him a three-year contract.”
Onyekuru said he expects Adana Demirspor to soon be one of the biggest clubs in Turkey.
“I am happy to come to such a club. When I talked to some of my former teammates, they said that it will be one of the biggest clubs in Turkey in a few years,” said the forward, who has on three different occasions played in Turkey with Galatasaray.
