Former Super Eagles striker Anthony Ujah has backed coach Augustine Eguavoen to get the best out of the country’s team after the NFF announced he will continue as interim coach.
Eguavoen will not only lead the Super Eagles out against Libya in a 2025 AFCON double-header next month, he will also be in charge of the CHAN Eagles also next month.
“He will get the best out of the players,” said former FC Cologne and Werder Bremen star Ujah, who recalled that Eguavoen gave him his first call-up with the U23s against Tanzania.
“He’s a good man and the players respect him.
“(Victor) Osimhen would not have disrespected Eguavoen, like he did Finidi (George).
“He is like Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid, a man of few words, but his instructions are clear.
“I hope they will give him everything and also time to do well.”
