A loan transfer to Trabzonspor for Emmanuel Dennis is off after negotiations between the Turkish club and his agents broke down.
The Athletic reported that Trabzonspor were still interested in getting Dennis on a season-loan move from Southampton, but this will no longer happen because negotiations have hit a dead end.
Dennis, who is surplus to requirement at Premier League club Nottingham Forest, would have joined fellow Super Eagles star Paul Onuachu and former Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe at Trabzonspor.
Turkish clubs Adana Demirspor and Istanbul Basaksehir are the two other Turkish club closely linked with the player now.
The transfer will be a loan deal with no option to buy and with the Turkish club covering his salary.
He is expected to make his move before the transfer window shuts down Friday in Turkey.
