A top Belgian football analyst has described Gift Orban as “a ticking time bomb” at Gent.
The striker is no longer scoring goals and he no longer starts games for Gent, something he said he detests.
Analyst Peter Vandenbempt told Sporza: “There is a striker problem at the moment. And as far as Gift Orban is concerned, that is a double problem.
“Not only does he no longer score, but everything shows that he is a ticking time bomb. He is clearly very dissatisfied with his status as a substitute.”
The last time Gift Orban played a full match for Gent in the league was on August 20 this year against STVV.
During that match, Orban scored a goal.
The 21-year-old striker was widely expected to make a big-money transfer this past summer, but Gent reportedly scared away buyers with an asking price of 30 Million Euros.
His Transfermarkt value is put at 20 Million Euros. It is left to be seen whether Gent will now be willing to sell him in January.
