Sevilla of Spain forward Toni Payne has said the Super Falcons are confident they can cause a huge upset by beating “best team in the world” USA in a final Summer Series game early Friday morning in Austin, Texas.
Incidentally, Payne has represented the US at U17 and U23 levels before she opted to play for Nigeria at full international level.
She said the Falcons are pumped up for the match, which will kick off by 2am Friday in Nigeria.
“I see every time to step out to the pitch as an opportunity and not a lot of teams get the opportunity to play against USA, the best team in the world,” Payne said.
“This is an opportunity for us to compete, to get better, to grow.
“We all have confidence we can win, we just focus on what individual efforts we can put in and also how we improve as a team.
“We’re excited by another opportunity.”
