The Super Falcons will be gunning for four points against Norway and South Korea so as to go past the first round of the 2019 Women’s World Cup, according to assistant coach Maureen Madu.
The nine-time African champions will open their World Cup quest on June 8 against Norway, before they face South Korea four days later.
“We hope to get four points from the games against Norway and South Korea,” Madu told SCORENigeria
“Our first game against Norway will be the most important because a win in that game will give us the confidence and motivation we need for this tournament.
“A loss, on the other hand, will be a bad signal to the team and the nation as a whole.”
Host country and tournament favourites France are the other team in Group A and the Falcons will battle them on June 17 in Rennes.
Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby has backed his team to reach the last eight, 20 years since they achieved this feat in the United States.
