Coach Justine Madugu has admitted that the Super Falcons had to overcome massive pressure to beat South Africa and advance to the final of the 2024 WAFCON.
The nine-time African champions needed a lucky long ball in stoppage time by defender Michele Alozie to fly past Banyana Banyana of South Africa to set up a dream final against hosts Morocco this weekend.
“It was a very difficult game, we lost control of the game and we got worried. We were frustrated, angry and getting careless and that became a cause of concern and worry,” Madugu said at the post-match press conference
“The match generated pressure on everybody, there was the rivalry (between the two and you want to win the trophy and you can’t win it without getting past the semfinal.
“It was bit a nervy, we began to doubt ourselves, we didn’t allow the frustration to stop us and eventually it worked out for us.”
The Super Falcons will now leave Casablanca for Rabat for the final against hosts Morocco Saturday night.
Kick-off time is 9pm

As a good Coach how could you allow that to affect your team stability, composure and confidence with the pedigree of your team. It showed your ineptitude.
Your excuse is not tenable
