Canada match winner was scored in the 18th minute as the nine-time African champions chased for an equaliser in a test game played behind closed doors.
One of the biggest chances in this contest fell to PSG new signing Jennifer Echegini, but she failed to put it away.
It was the first loss by the Super Falcons this year.
Interestingly, both teams played a penalty shootout with Nigeria carrying the day 5-4.
Super Falcons scorers were Asisat Oshoala, Toni Payne, Christy Ucheibe, Deborah Abiodun and Rasheedat Ajibade.
Both teams clashed a year ago at the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand and there were no goals in the encounter.
Coach Randy Waldrum started his strongest starting XI meaning by African Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala was consigned to the bench.
The team will fly out tomorrow to France to continue their preparation for the Paris Olympics.
They open their campaign against Brazil on July 25 in Bordeaux.

The truth is that our sisters don’t know how to kick ball.
Kindly teach them how to kick ball , they can’t shoot accurately and forcefully.
Their various club sides are not developing these players to their potential and to our benefits.
Kindly work on this technique.
Thanks
If they don’t know how to kick football, how come they are playing football? If they cannot kick accurately and forcefully, how come they score goals and play for some of the biggest clubs in USA and Europe? Let’s encourage and appreciate our girls. They can play.
The girls are doing good, but they should play more selflessness, don’t want to be the scorer, play more like a team, pass the ball to who has a better chance to score, pass the ball to your team mate early before she is closed by an opponent.
