The NFF huge indebtedness to the national teams, principally the Super Falcons and Flying Eagles after their recent outings, will be the top of the agenda in next week’s parley between the House Committee on Sports and the NFF.
The parley is fixed for Thursday in Abuja.
The Super Falcons unpaid monies made international headlines, while the Flying Eagles are also unhappy they have not received bonuses for both the U20 AFCON as well as the World Cup in Argentina.
The Flying Eagles are yet to receive any bonus from the U20 World Cup, where they reached the quarterfinal since 2011, and 10 days camp allowance, which amounts to $1000-a-player has not been paid.
They have also not been paid qualifying bonuses for advancing to the U20 AFCON as well as the U20 World Cup.
There was a promise of $5,000-a-player when they qualified for the U20 World Cup, but this has yet to be fulfilled.
SCORENigeria has also reported that the Super Eagles have also not been paid bonuses and allowances for 16 matches over two years.
An official of the sports committee said: “We want the NFF to let us know why they are having such challenges now and how best to tackle them.
“We also want to see where we could come in to help them in this regard.”
He further said these episodes have been both a national and international embarrassment to Nigeria.
