Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has expressed disappointment over the postponement of the 2026 WAFCON.
CAF Thursday announced that this year’s WAFCON will no longer kick off on March 17 as the tournament has been moved to July due to “some unforseen circumstances”.
The CAF statement did not name the hosts of the competition.
“African women’s football deserves better,” Ajibade posted on X with an emoji of disappointment after the postponement of tournament was made official after several weeks of speculations.
The Super Falcons played two warm-up matches in Cameroon this past week and were due to continue their preparations for the WAFCON in Morocco before the kick-off was moved.
