The Super Falcons have called up a mix of experienced campaigners and several youngsters for next week’s 2024 WAFCON first round qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.
Asisat Oshoala leads players from the recent World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where the Super Falcons reached the Round of 16.
Other World Cup stars include goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, Christy Uchebe, Toni Payne, Rasheedat Ajibade and captain Onome Ebi.
Youngsters like Esther Onyenezide, Flourish Sebastine and Opeyemi Ajakaye have also been invited.
Nine-time African champions Nigeria will host the Sao Tome and Principe at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Friday, September 22, with the return leg scheduled four days later.
The winners of this fixture will be eligible to confront the winners of another first round fixture between Cape Verde and Liberia, at the second-round stage slated for the period November 27 – December 5.
Morocco, who hosted last year’s edition of the continental showpiece, will again host next year’s spectacle.
