Coach Eric Chelle has said he believes the Super Eagles will get over missing out on the 2026 World Cip.
The three-time African champions open their 2025 AFCON campaign tomorrow evening against Tanzania and Eric Chelle said the target is to get off to a winning start in Fes.
“We are our first opponent, we need to focus on ourselves and take out outside noise,” the Super Eagles coach said at official pre-match press briefing.
“Of course, the World Cup miss is painful.”
“Our first game is a big game, and the first game is very important. For sure we want to win this game,” he added.
“This is not the moment to talk about the World Cup qualifiers.
“For now, the most important thing is this tournament.”
Kick-off tomorrow in Fes is 6.30pm
Tunisia and Uganda are the other teams in Group C.
